The Geekiest Twitter Fight Between Marvel and Star Wars

Who doesn’t love a big Twitter fight?

When they’re done right, they can be hilarious (so very many thanks to Waterstones, Foyle’s and Blackwells bookshops for this one )…or you can just have a regular angry meltdown of fury like some people (looking at YOU, Shia LaBeouf and your weirdo, terrible comics).

What is a Twitter fight, you might ask. What is a Twitter. Here is the definition from the Urban Dictionary, which is of course the only reputable source of linguistic knowledge:

Twitter – noun
A stupid site for stupid people with no friends, who think everyone else gives a shit what they’re doing at any given time.
Also lacks the functionality of other social networking sites, not that it matters because just like Twitter all those sites suck anyway.
 – “Twitter is for twats.”

The two kinds of Twitter fights

Twitter fights can be divided into two categories: the fights that are funny, and the feuds that are not. They can be participated in by anyone on Twitter; celebrities, nobodies, companies, people vs. companies…and are often premeditated by marketing agencies (I think).

Marvel Vs Star Wars

This Twitter fight, a.k.a. the geekiest of geekery, is an example of the premeditated kind. In case you’re not up on all things Star Wars, Disney now own both the rights to the Star Wars franchise AND Marvel, which therefore makes it the king of the future of spin-off cinema.
